Case Study comprises one of many projects completed by The Cadman Group at Colchester General Hospital, this contract initially involved the erection of scaffolding at the Main Entrance to the hospital to facilitate the part dismantling and refurbishment of the front canopy prior to installing new soffit cladding and entrance signage.
The front entrance area was further improved by the thorough steam cleaning of the existing stone wall cladding panels, refurbishment of the automated entrance doors and the incorporation of coloured blue feature panels in lieu of glazing to the windows on the front facade.
The front entrance road way and footpaths underwent a re-model in tandem with the facade refurbishments including the installation of tactile paving, adjustment of drop kerbs, introduction of new protection bollards, new fixed signage and new street furniture to suit the hospitals requirements. The access road was also part re-surfaced during the project before receiving fresh line marking to suit the new layout.
This fast-track project was completed within an extremely tight programme which involved both weekend and night working outside of normal work hours in order to complete the necessary works around the restrictions imposed by the high volumes of public access at all other times. The project was successfully managed and completed on programme ensuring the minimum possible disruption and health and safety risks to the general public.
