Founded in 1932, our business was established in Colchester by Mr C. M. Cadman, alongside his younger brother, Mr L. R. Cadman, with the early guidance and support of their father, Mr H. Cadman, a respected former Master Builder.
Originally operating as general family builders and house builders, the company built a strong local reputation for quality craftsmanship and integrity. Operations were temporarily suspended during the Second World War, before recommencing in 1946 under the name C. M. Cadman Master Builder.
The business continued to expand as general builders until 1966, when M. J. Cadman joined the firm as a partner, and the company became C. M. Cadman & Son. During this period, the partnership broadened its expertise to include speculative housing developments and commercial ventures, complementing its established building services. The company experienced significant growth between 1966 and 1975, when the original founder retired and the business continued under M. J. Cadman’s leadership.
