Case Study project comprises of the construction of a new yard and General and Clinical Waste storage unit at the Colchester General Hospital.
The project required for the supply and installation of a steel framed canopy to receive standing seam wall and roof cladding to form the storage enclosure together with the installation of galvanised palisade gates to provide a secure access into the storage yard.
The project was completed within an extremely busy area of the hospital site and required regular liaison with the hospital staff and a courteous approach to assist the management of regular deliveries and collections to and from the hopispital. It was necessary for our operatives and subcontractors to complete a number of activities at weekends to ensure safe management of health and safety risks and minimum disruption to the hospital.
The presence of a significant number of existing live services were another challenge which needed to be carefully managed during the completion of our works. We were successful in safely managing these risks at all times and ensured that the hospital services were not disrupted at any time during the project.
