This was our inaugural project on behalf of the Department For Education working on the ESFA Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP2) following our selection amongst strong competition from other framework members.
The project comprises the design and construction of a purpose built teaching building focused upon the teaching of Art, Drama and Science curriculum, designed and built in strict accordance with the DfE's exacting design standards and technical specifications.
Our involvement included full Design and Development of the project brief from outline feasibility stage following a series of early Client Engagement meetings
Works included the demolition of an existing Teaching Building covering 2428m2 to make way for new external car-parking and soft landscaping scheme once the new building was ready for occupation. The decant and migration of legacy fixtures, fittings and school resources were also managed and completed effectively by Cadman Construction with the close co-ordination and co-operation of the school staff.
This Priority Schools Building project also included peripheral works to expand parking provisions elsewhere in the school grounds by construction of a gabion wall structure and additional hardstandings created in sloped areas of the existing site.
The new building was extremely well received by the the school following a number of difficult years which had threatened closure prior to the DfE investment. The project now provides the school with high quality and essential resources which shall no doubt enable a positive future for staff and students allowing the school to go from strength to strength going forward.
