New Multi-Use Hall

Company: Cadman Construction Ltd  |  Category: Education

Case study project comprises of a large purpose built, multi-use hall building at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Barnet. The new building was constructed in three phases within the confines of a very restricted site.

The project involved the demolition of an existing swimming pool building and extensive diversion of a number of existing underground services to facilitate construction of the new structure over the existing building's foundations. The new building envelope included a large-span Glulam structure, a king-zip standing seam roof and Comar curtain walling. The internal fit-out phase included installation of a Junckers floor, retractable seating, specialist stage lighting installations and construction of a sound-proof control booth.
